Took a poll in our amazing facebook group of what everyone’s favourite family activities for the summer are, preferable free or super cheap stuff to do. Always good to have a few extra ideas in your back pocket to keep everyone entertained and having fun! 🙂
There’s the Nature Playground at Assiniboine Park – we haven’t checked this one out yet but it’s definitely on our list! Looks like fun, and could spend hours there.
There’s a lot of stuff to do through parks Canada, and many other historical things that kids will actually enjoy. One of our family’s favourites is Fort Gibraltar.
Check out events happening in small towns near you, or ones you like if you live in the city and want to take a drive with the family. Things are usually affordable and there’s usually family fun type celebrations all summer long. Lots of different things to try out and a lot of them have really unique features and themes.
Folklorama is a great way to get out as a family, kids can be either free or you can get a cheaper family pass for older ones. Lots to see and do and I like how it’s spread out all over the city for everyone!
And of course there’s always the splash pads all around the city, lots to try out and with the new extended hours can really enjoy those long summer days!
