Monday Feb. 18th is Family Day (remember, no school!) and there is a lot of fun stuff happening around the city!
The Forks has their Arctic Glacier Winter Park – you can toboggan, skate, snowboard and more! Skate rentals are cheap, $2.50 for kids and $4.50 for adults.
They’re also having the Family Rendez-vous on the trail, sponsored by the Festival du Voyageur. All kinds of games and fun for the whole family, from 12-4. It’s actually happening all weekend, so check out their site for more info.
The Festival du Voyageur starts up this weekend, which means a ton of activities from the 15th to the 24th all over the city. If you’ve never been before, go check it out. Fun for the whole family, lots to do and see – try out some new foods or some old favourites, listen to some music, go on a horse ride, toboggan on a huge hill etc.
I’ll be posting more about the Festival after we go – last year we spent 2 days in the kids tent listening to music and watching magic shows etc. We had to drag the kiddo out at the end of the day 🙂
The Children’s Museum is having a Franco-Fun day from 11am-3pm. Looks like they have a fiddle performance, crafts and even making tire with maple syrup. Yum!
What else is going on around Winnipeg? Post them up – and what is your family planning on doing with this extra day off?
Check out Family & Friends Fun Day from 10 am to 4 pm at the Bruce D. Campbell Farm & Food Discovery Centre, located just 15 km south of Winnipeg on Hwy 75 (Pembina Hwy). Try your hand at making cream into butter, bake some barley bannock, strap on some snowshoes to walk through the deep snow and who knows what other fascinating events for all ages. Admission costs include guided tours through the exhibits every hour from 11 am to 3 pm. Adults $5. Youth 7-18 $3.50. Children under 6 free. Seniors $3.50. Family $14.50. (plus GST). Travel directions can be found at http://www.ffdc.ca.
oooh! that sounds fun! I know my daughter had really enjoyed her day there, and this sounds like there’s some awesome activities. Prices are very reasonable too 🙂
Hudson the polar bear is being unveiled at Assiniboine Park on Thursday Feb 14th, so that would be a perfect day to go see him as well!

Do you know if there is a cost to the kids day at the childrens museum, I looked on their website and didn’t see anything. Thanks for this info.
I’d imagine it’s the same price as any other day.
