I had the opportunity to make a picture book using the Canadian based company Ookpix.com and let me tell you, I had so much fun!
First thing’s first, I would suggest that before beginning your project, watch the video tutorials. It explains everything you need to know in order to totally customize your product, and it’s not just one long video; there are 5 short ones.
As I started my project, of course life happens: The kids needed me! If it wasn’t one thing, it was the next, but it didn’t bother me. I was able to save my project, take care of my family, and come back to it when they were sound asleep. It took me about 2 days to complete my project, but every time I came to the computer, I thought of something new I could add. Be it a little blurb, or a different picture, even change the layout of the suggested page! I really loved that I didn’t have to rush and put one together quickly, I was able to save it, and come back later on, or even the next day!
Once all my pictures and text were inserted, I fooled around with the order that I wanted the book to be in! I need to say, it turned out sooo well!
We recently had family pictures done, and I was just waiting to get the prints we ordered, when I decided that I didn’t need extra prints to mail to my Grandmother. She has enough pictures, and I’m not too sure if she has room in her picture albums or what she does with them. So I decided to make the photobook, and give her something she can keep out on an end table, coffee table, or take with her (that isn’t as bulky as a photo album).
I was very impressed with the quality of the book and the speediness of their shipping!
