What’s happening in #Winnipeg for New Year’s eve!

22 Dec

There’s a lot of choices for fun things to do in Winnipeg for New Year’s Eve, if I’ve missed some make sure to add them in the comments or email me to get them added.

– The Fairmont Winnipeg is having a great event, a luxurious and decadent way to spend NYE in Winnipeg. For $150 you get an 8 course dinner in the Velvet Glove and then you can head to the private Fairmont Gold lounge on the 19th floor for champagne and chocolate buffet for dessert. Guests will be able to watch the fireworks from the warmth of the lounge without all the crazy crowds. We just ate at the Velvet Glove recently and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had – can’t even imagine how amazing 8 courses would be! And fun to get to watch the fireworks. All kinds of deals on rooms too if you want to stay over.

– The Convention Centre is having a glamourous event for NYE – red carpet reception, 5 course dinner and dancing into the new year, guests are invited to come red carpet ready and be prepared to celebrate in style. All kinds of different packages, including some with hotel rooms.

The Forks is having a family friendly event. From 4-7:30 there’s wagon rides, caricatures, art city, face painting and all kinds of musical entertainment. Then at 8pm it’s the fireworks – love that they’re so early, great for kids to get to enjoy them too.

If you’re looking for more family friendly, check your local community centres. And if you’re looking for things to do at home, you can do a Noon-Year’s eve party for kids, or just watch a station in an earlier time zone and celebrate it then 🙂

And remember if you’re out and have been drinking, take a bus or a cab – or call Operation Rednose.
