Yes! I’m talking treats – cookies, cakes, pies, donuts, ice cream! If it’s local and delicious, I want to know about it!
I scoured my phone and found tons of great ones – we really are lucky to have so many amazing places in Winnipeg, and outside the city too!
And a good reference point if you’re heading out for dessert – a guide of Manitoban treats can’t hurt!
Here are the ones we’ve been to, loved and had many pictures from:
Feel like a giant LegenDairy cone? – head over to Teeyah’s – these candy topped cones are super fun and a great treat. There are smaller cones too of course, and all kinds of nostalgic candy! And if you ever crave blue licorice ice cream, they have it there and you can even buy a tub of it to bring home!
Sweet C Bakery has all kinds of neat treats – like candy sushi and Unicorn bars – also things like raw edible cookie dough and the most amazing snickerdoodle cookies!
La Belle Baguette has all kinds of amazing fresh baked treats – like croissants and raspberry pistachio cream puffs. Lots of great breads too, cookies, cakes – yum!
If you’re in the mood for a LOT of ice cream, check out the ice cream shop at Golf Central!
These cones are huge – the blue one is a kid size and the brown one is a large.
All kinds of ice cream choices and some pretty awesome ones to dip it in too!
Another favourite is the Goog Special from BDI – can’t seem to resist that one. Everything in one, a blueberry milkshake, a hot fudge sundae and more…..delicious! Lots of great choices there too and they always seem to add something new every year. And waiting in line is half the fun!
So many cakes, pies and more at Baked Expectations! Have to say – their Key Lime pie is one of my all time favourite desserts ever!
Can’t leave out a major food group – donuts!
So many yummy ones from Oh Doughnuts – there’s always new ones to try too and an amazing menu!
What are your absolute favourite treats that are made in Manitoba? Which places do you recommend and what are the must try’s there?
Anything from Constance Pop! Such good chocolate!
Also love the cookie sandwiches and macarons from Jenna Rae Cakes!
I had a pic of ice cream from Constance Popp’s but thought post was getting a little bit long! Her stuff is great!
Just tried Chaeban Ice Cream at 390 Osborne, and as you can usually tell by the line-ups every evening, it’s very, very good ice cream with locally sourced ingredients and a flight of 4 different scoops is $9, cheaper than most gelato shops.
Good to know! It’s on our spring break list!
Our family favourite is Lilac Bakery on Grosvenor
