The school year is almost over – time to start thinking about summer camps!
Whether you need it through out the entire summer, or just for a few weeks or days, there are a lot of really great choices in Winnipeg.
- Assiniboine Park Zoo has weekly camps in July and August. It’s for age grade 1 to 6 and if you plan on doing their camps take a look at getting a membership to the zoo – big discounts on it. They’re having 2 themes for this summer and have an hour long time for pickups and drop-offs too.
- Childrens Museum has camp for kids grades 1-5 and they run weekly too. Lots of great weekly themes, and also a reasonable pickup and dropoff time. Looks like one week sold out already – so if you’re planning on this one, don’t wait.
- The Winnipeg Art Gallery has 2 different camps, one for ages 6-10 and the other for 11-15. Weekly themes and a discount if you’re a member too.
- Forum Art Centre has several different camps for ages 7 to 12, and 12 to 17 years old. They’re only in August, but sounds like a lot of fun. We love their art classes and their camps sound great!
- St. Boniface Museum has several camps in July and August – they run some in English and some in French. There’s discounts if you book before June 20th. It’s for ages 6 to 11 yrs old.
- Manitoba Museum has camps for July and August and it’s divided into three groups – Grades K & 1 / 2 & 3 / 4 & 5. There’s a discount for members, and they offer a very early drop off too.
- The YMCA offers a bunch of different camps all summer long for a variety of age groups. They have really early drop off and extended pickup.
You can also check with your local community centre or school as many of them run smaller camps too.
