For many years I have done a post about berry picking at this time of the year. Sometimes the weather hasn’t been great so we’re far away from it, sometimes we are getting very close to it.
This year – no matter when they’re ready I think we will all just be happy to have those delicious fresh berries! And hopefully be able to get outside and pick them ourselves – if you’re into that! 🙂
There’s no guarantee yet, as of course things will keep changing – but the berries are planted and growing. So, one way or another we will have them soon enough. Hopefully if things stay the same it’ll be mostly business as usual at the berry farms – social distancing and all that of course. If not, then maybe we will only be able to buy them picked, or make appointments etc.
But, it’s something to look forward to and always nice to choose your farm in advance and follow along on social media. Let them know you’re excited and ready to pick or shop! A lot of them have a lot more than berries too – so check them out and see how you can support them.
So, here are all of the great choices for berry farms around Winnipeg and beyond. If I missed any, let me know. Of course when you go pick, bring boots if need be, a lunch, bug spray, water etc.
