September Snackbox Surprise!!

20 Sep

september We received our September Snackbox a few days ago, so exciting to open that I even waited for the kiddo to get home from school for it! 🙂  Imagine my surprise when kiddo picked out the package of seaweed snacks and jumped for joy, literally! I had no idea, but it was something she had been wanting to try, apparently it’s a popular snack at school and they’re not allowed to share. She really liked it, and it was pretty amusing to us to see her enjoy it so much!!

There were a lot of yummy goodies in this month’s box:

1 – Kind Healthy snacks dark chocolate cherry cashew snack bar – yum! Super filling and yummy snack bar!

2 – King Island coconut milk drink, which it’s now established go straight to grandma

3 – Gimme organic seaweed snack – the new snack of choice for school! Did you know seaweed has the highest density of vitamins and minerals of any vegetable!! Pretty cool!

4 – Mary’s gone crackers chocolate chip cookie – so great, individually wrapped and it’s gluten, nut and dairy free so perfect for school.

5 – Home free Chocolate chip cookies – also nut, egg and dairy free! I love finding out about all these nut free products since i’m always at a loss for little school desserts. These cookies were great because they’re small

6 – Brothers All Natural Pear fruit crisps – we got the apple ones last month, and actually went to a few stores to find them – we ended up finding them in stock at the Dollar Tree store on St. Mary’s. These are awesome as a school snack, I just leave the bag in her backpack and she can eat it when she wants.

7 – Nature’s Path Q’ia superfood cereal – love cereals like this, I add it into kiddo’s yogourt and pancakes etc. for that extra boost of nutrition!

8 – Brookside Dark chocolate fruit – we got the pomegranate ones…well, I did since I opened and ate the entire bag by myself! 🙂

9 – Rocket food Appleberry Oatmeal – this is one of my new fave things, loved this one. It actually doesn’t contain any of the top 10 allergens (wheat, nuts, dairy, soy eggs, shellfish, fish, mustard, sulphites, sesame) but it tastes absolutely amazing!! Loved the sunflower seeds in this one, fun way to add crunch without nuts.

10 – Mediterranean Snacks Tapaz 2 go – Love this one too, it’s a snackpack of lentil crackers and hummus, all ready to go. I haven’t eaten it yet, waiting for a field trip etc.

11 – Dan-D Pak macadamia nuts – when is the last time you had macadamia nuts? I couldn’t remember for us, and actually I think kiddo had never had them! We have had to ration these out, we’re all in love with them! I’m already planning to pick up another can and make some amazing macadamia nut and white chocolate cookies!!

12 – Angie’s kettle corn – yum, yum, yum!! Awesome little snack, and I just saw them in the Target flyer this week on sale for the little Halloween packs. We wolfed this one down, so we will be heading to Target to pick some more up!! They make several flavours too, can’t wait to try the other ones too.

I think my favourite thing about the Snackbox delivery is the surprise element to it – of course it is fun to get to eat all kinds of new snacks. I thought I was a pretty savvy shopper and knew most of the products out there, but love that they get me every month with stuff I’ve never heard of! With so many allergies out there and restrictions in schools it’s nice to get to try out a lot of new products that kiddo can bring to school and enjoy.

And don’t forget to use the promo code COUPONWINNIPEG to save $15 off your first Snackbox until October 31st! And for those of you who ordered it, what did you think of the September box?
