There’s a fun promotion happening in St. Boniface right now until Feb. 23rd , MmmFestival.
Local businesses have put together special menus and items, Voyageur style.
One of my local favourites, Promenade Cafe has come up with a really cool menu for it, and one lucky person will be winning dinner for two from this new menu!
Here are the new dishes they came up with just for this event:
Appetizer – Bison Tourtiere Turnovers with Warm Gravy dipping sauce $9
Entrée– Warm Smoked Salmon with woven vegetables and Wild Rice $20
Dessert– Warm Bread pudding with Maple Whiskey Sauce $8
Beverage– French Press Coffee with Chocolate and Caribou Liqueur $7 Non Alcohol $4
Sounds exactly like what you’d want after a cold day outside – or if you’re a Voyageur! Love their take on tourtiere – and that it’s an appetizer! I’ve eaten enough tourtiere in my life and had never even considered it as an app! And that dessert sounds amazing, perfect nightcap and yummy warm goodness – who can resist that! 🙂 I don’t even eat fish and that salmon has me curious – I think I’d almost have to try that one!

Everything sounds amazing! I’d start with Champignons crostini, add Salade maison, then Bison Tourtière for the entree.
