If you’re looking for something fun and different to do this weekend, Sunday the 18th is open farm day.

If you haven’t been before, it’s a great opportunity to check out all kinds of farms, museums and more.

There are maps for which farms are participating – pick an area and check it out.

These are real, working farms so remember to dress properly and to follow all their rules and instructions. Fun for the whole family, and the costs vary from place to place so you can plan a really fun day on a budget.

Depending on the type of farm you’ll be heading to, you might need rubber boots and a change of clothes for after. Check out the maps of surrounding area too – you might find a great bakery or diner for lunch or dinner – and if there isn’t much nearby you can always pack a picnic in advance.

You can check out a full map here  – so many options you might have a hard time choosing! I like the variety between food, animals, events etc.

Which events have you checked out in previous years? What would you recommend? And if you’re new to it, what are you planning on checking out?
