If you love scented hand soaps but find them too harsh on the hands, or too expensive – or if you’re just trying to find a cheaper alternative or a more environmentally friendlier option….Castille oil should be your new best friend 🙂
If you have an empty bottle of foaming Hand soap, you just need to add 1 tbsp of Castile oil and fill the rest with water – TADA! Foaming hand soap! You can add essential oils if you want it to smell a certain way, or leave it plain or find an unscented Castille oil too.
You can get a 1 Litre bottle of Castile oil for anywhere from $10 to $15…. Imagine how many bottles you can make, 1tbsp at a time! I find the ones that say peppermint scented don’t really smell like peppermint, so I went and got a completely unscented one too. Both work great though. If you don’t have any empty foaming bottles, they do sell them at Dollar stores and you can get something to match your decor.
I have been using castille oil and water to clean our patio furniture and bird houses and feeders because it’s organic and natural and it really does a good job on the tree sap and other stuff outside. I just mix it together in a spray bottle, super small ratio of oil again.
It’s very versatile – and with so many items being hard to find lately, this is a good multi-use item to pick up if you can.
I was pretty amazed at how easy it was to make the soap!! There are so many uses for this oil, so I will keep trying them and let you guys know which ones work.
