Fun ways to celebrate Easter at home

7 Apr

I know a lot of people are feeling sad or disappointed about not being able to get out and go to church and family get-togethers for Easter.

There’s a lot that can be done right at home, and make the best of it.

– You can video chat a family dinner. Everyone make their meal and set up their laptops, phones etc. You can all make the same meal or swap recipes. Have fun with it. If you don’t want to cook, order from the many places offering Easter meals.

– Have an Easter egg hunt – if you’re missing people, do it as a video chat. If not, record it and send it to family, especially grandparents.

– If you don’t have Easter eggs to hide, come up with something creative and fun for your family. Can be as simple as coins, or come up with ideas for outings to do once things are back to normal. Or earn points for a special treat. Lots of fun possibilities.

– Decorate eggs if you have them. Make a hole in the egg and use it for baking or an omelette. Or hard-boil them and put them back in the fridge right after. Depending if you decide to eat them after or not, you can do it with whipping cream, shaving cream, markers, wax etc.

– Get festive and decorate your front windows or lawn if you have stuff for that. Get the kids to draw pictures, make things out of paper mache or cardboard. Makes for a fun activity, and always nice to see while out on a walk.

– Watch Hop or another Easter type movie while eating all of the treats. Or watch rabbit videos on YouTube 🙂

– Watch Church on the computer or the TV, I’m sure most if not all of them are doing it that way.

What do you have planned, and what would you add to this list?
