Fun stuff to do in #Winnipeg for Family Day 2015!

9 Feb

winter one  I think most of us are looking forward to an extra day off – and thankfully Family Day is on Feb. 16th and there’s a lot to do around the city and at home!

If you’re not wanting to go out and want to just have a quiet Family Day at home, why not plan something special?

A PJ and movie day, special baking, board games or just even playing outside as a family is always fun! And an extra day to do it is awesome! And with the whole family home when you’re doing having fun it’s the perfect time to tackle some chores and have the whole family pitch in! I love days like that, perfect day to get kids to clean out and purge their rooms – we do the keep, donate or trash with my daughter for books, toys and clothes and it goes very quickly. Make it a game and by Tuesday morning you’ll feel great with a decluttered house! 🙂

If you’re looking to get out of the house and have some fun, there’s so many great places to check out and all kinds of special events. If I’ve missed any let me know.

The Forks has a lot happening all weekend and monday too – skating on the river, fashion show, kids activities like canoe races, fish toss and much more.

Assiniboine Zoo is having their Northern Explorer event all month long. Lots to do and see there!

Childrens Museum is having a Franco-Fun day. Crafts and activities, a visit from the Voyageur family and performances by Jacques Chenier.

Fort Whyte has stuff happening from 1-3pm. Bannock bar and Voyageur games.

Oak Hammock Marsh is having a Voyageur Day from 10:30am to 4pm.

Hoping the weather is great and we all get a chance to get outside and have some fun with our families!
