Flashfood App – save $$$ on groceries

6 Sep

If you’re looking to cut down your grocery budget, and help keep food out of the landfill The Flashfood app is the way to go!

It’s really easy to use, and you can check any Superstore across Canada to see what they have. You download the app, make an account and you’re ready to go.

You check your local store to see what they have that day, pick what you want and it’s ready to pick up at customer service that day. It’s a great way for them to get rid of food that’s close to expiring, and also things that just aren’t selling quickly or well at that location. I’ve used it for some fruit and veggie boxes and have been really happy with the results. You do have to put your credit card and prepay, so don’t forget to pick it up.

The nice part too is if you’re in another area of town you can check those stores too really easily. I find the variety of items is really different from store to store.

There there can be anything from meat, butter, cheese, baked goods, and a lot of produce – and much more.

You don’t have to buy a minimum amount, you can just grab one thing or 10 things. I like that you can go in and do your regular shopping, and just pick up your Flashfood purchase at the end. There will be a cooler marked, and you check in with customer service to get it. Really easy to quickly run in for it too.

It’s it’s a great way to keep food from being thrown out, it’s all still good…. And you get it at half price.

It’s it’s perfect for picking up lunch supplies, or getting creative with what you’ll have for dinner that night. There’s a lot of really easy meal combos at most stores I’ve checked.

You can choose to cook the meat right away, or freeze it for down the road.

With all the fruit and veggies you can also freeze some of those, or make things like applesauce or use them for smoothies etc.

It’s a great idea for the pocketbook and the environment.
