Enter to win tickets to Cirque du Soleil Varekai in #Winnipeg

varekai Cirque Du Soleil is coming to Winnipeg – so exciting! They will have 8 performances at MTS Centre from June 24th to 28th.

This show Varekai looks to be amazing! Here’s some info about the story for this one:

A dormant volcano, a mystical forest and an ancient prophecy… The adventure of Icarus begins.

Deep within a forest, at the summit of a volcano, exists an extraordinary world-a world where something is possible. A world called Varekai.

The sky lets go a solitary young man, and the story of Varekai begins. Parachuted into the shadows of a magical forest, a kaleidoscopic world imbued with fantastical creatures, a young man takes flight in an adventure both absurd and extraordinary. On this day at the edge of time, in this place of pure and undiluted possibility, begins an inspired incantation to a life rediscovered and to a newly found wonder in the mysteries of the world and the mind.

You can already picture in your mind how whimsical and creative they can get with this story. I never thought Cirque would come to Winnipeg so this is a great opportunity to see a world class show without having to leave the city!

cirque 2  We have watched so many of their videos online and on tv specials – I can’t wait to get to see it in person! The ticket prices are super reasonable too, from $40 to around $95! Here is the lineup for the shows:

Wednesday, June 24 at 7:30pm
Thursday, June 25 at 7:30pm
Friday, June 26 at 4:00 pm and 7:30pm
Saturday, June 27 at 4:00pm and 7:30pm
Sunday, June 28 at 1:30pm and 5:00pm

Great for families or an evening out – I like the variety in the times. You can buy your tickets on Ticketmaster or on the Cirque du Soleil site. My daughter thought this was only in bigger cities, it blew her mind when she found out she would get to see them live. I can’t wait to see her face when she sees all the amazing acrobatics, costumes, routines etc.  Even just looking at the pictures you can get a feel for the show. There’s so many layers to the Cirque du Soleil performances and it’s so great that they are performing here!
