Costco frontline workers quick access

8 Apr

Costco is now allowing frontline workers to head through the pharmacy line to do their grocery shopping. Which means avoiding the giant lineup!!

You need to have your ID of the organization you work for – whether it’s the fire department, police department, healthcare worker or paramedic and your Costco membership.

You will be let in a lot quicker that way. You will still have to wait for people to leave the store before you can get in the, as the numbers are kept at a minimum.

And a huge thanks to Costco for putting this in place so quickly for all of our amazing front line workers ❤️

I have confirmed this for all 3 locations in Winnipeg, make sure to check your local store before you head down if you’re not in Manitoba. Good idea to call ahead and check if your actual job is covered under the list also.

Costco has now confirmed it’s across Canada. This is just temporary, so I will update.

  1. If I work as a pharmacy manager in community pharmacy ,is that consider as a front line in your rules or not. thank you

  2. What about front line workers of family Dr offices? We are still front line dealing with patients everyday.

  3. Hi there,
I am writing because I feel sad for Health care aide and home care workers.
I heard home care workers is not considered for health Care worker!!
I just wanted to ask why!!!!!
We still need to work during this situation and we are in dangerous work area because we need to travel between clients to clients. We need to see over 10 people in a day.
We are in frontline but we don’t get anything!! Can you imagine that if elderly people without us, how they can take care themselves. How they get up, how they get dress, how they eat, how they can take their pills. We need get more closer to patients than anyone because we need to provide them personal care.
PLEASE THINK ABOUT HOME CARE WORKERS!!! WE ARE HEALTH CARE WORKERS!!!

    Thank you,

  4. This site needs to specify which type of front line workers are able to bypass the regular lineups. I’m an essential worker working for a disability agency, grocery shopping for individuals who cannot leave their homes as they fall under a few risk categories. I’m a direct support professional, not a doctor or registered nurse or paramedic, just to name a few. And I got turned away and told to stay in the line. Only so few staff that I work with have Costco memberships but we only work so many hours until we have to work at another home. We don’t have all the time to even shop for ourselves either. This needs to be addressed.

    • I put the exact wording that Costco is using…..I can’t specify more than that because different locations are letting in different occupations. Like I said, you need to phone your exact store and ask them.
