Another great new book from Chicken Soup for the Soul – Food and Love. 101 stories celebrating special times with family and friends and recipes too. This is a really fun book – perfect gift idea for any food lover on your list! 🙂 Lots of great sections in this one, like learning to cook, just like mom’s, comfort food, in memory of etc.
I love the fact that there are tons of great recipes in the book too, like moroccan chickpea stew, apple walnut coffee cake, even Grandma’s chocolate drop cookies! Perfect combination of touching stories, recipes and as always some great quotes and cute little comics. My favourite story is one every mom can relate too by Esme Mills called “Dishes can wait” – a great story about baking with her kids.
And thanks to Chicken Soup 2 lucky people will each be winning their own copy of this book! To enter comment below with your favourite recipe (can just be the name of it, doesn’t have to be the whole thing) and why it’s your fave! Contest open to all Canadians and will end Monday March 12th at noon. Good Luck to everyone!
Just made a recipe of scones today and they were a big hit!
Chicken and rice casserole fast easy and YUMMY!
Cabbage roll Casserole Soup is my favorite thing to make on a cold winter day! so Good !!!

Wonton soup has to be one of my favorites. I always make sure I have enough for my brothers family too as they love it as much as I do. If I don’t win I believe I’ll have to get this book – looks great!
gotta be mom’s goulash !! awesome !!
I love making home-made soup. I start with whatever meat I have, fry it up, drain any grease, then add whatever veggies I have sliced up, a couple of potatoes, some stock (I buy the tetra packs when they’re on sale) and sometimes a can of either tomatoes or tomato sauce. Once everything is chopped, it basically cooks itself. Nothing fancy, but freezes well. I also put in whatever spices are close, like garlic and dill, oregano, whatever.
Chocolate chip cookies-me and my daughter love eating the dough as much as the cookies!
I have 2 favs. Sesame noodles and sweet and sour pork 🙂
I’m not sure if this contest is still on because March 8th was a Thursday… 😉
My favorite recipes, well I have many! I love to cook. But I think I’ll narrow it down to my favorite pizza which is called California Club Pizza. 🙂

Banana bread muffins, so easy to make and a huge hit with my hubby every time I make them!
Baked chicken and sweet potatoes is my favorite. Very yummy and easy to make.
Curry Chicken Roti…..mmmm reminds me of my childhood!
Home made casserole of any sort… There is nothing like cheesy comfort food on a cold day!
I have a chicken pasta casserole that I love. And the best part – the kids love it too! It does take a bit to make but I can make multiple batches and freeze.
I have a favorite recipe for Red Velvet Cake. It is my favourite because it never turns out poorly, and I can fool everyone into thinking that it was super complex, when it is quite simple to make!
I’d have to say my fave would be Italian Chicken and Spaghetti !
