Best Houses to check out for Holiday Lights and Decor 2019

13 Nov

As we approach the holidays and the weather is getting colder, going to check out the Holiday Lights and displays at night is a really fun tradition! Makes for a fun evening out – everyone pile into the car, can even wear pj’s and pick up some hot chocolate and make it a night!

We compiled this list a few years ago and keep adding to it annually – so if there’s any changes or new ones make sure to let me know! Figured give everyone a headstart on these, as it’s a lot of fun. And so much work for those who put up all those lights and decor.

Remember to be respectful – they might not run their lights every night as it’s really expensive to do so. Some are for charity too, so bring along some $$ for donation boxes.

  • 275 Aldgate rd- has donation box for children’s wish foundation
  • 503 Kildare ave has a  big display, think they take donations too.
 LINDENWOODS:
– Hennessy dr-polar bear lane
– fox meadow dr-candy cane lane
– 125 shorecrest dr
17 Boulder Bay has a great light display in Windsor Park
– Snowberry circle
– Grand point
– Sage creek
Ranville Rd and Ironweed in Sage Creek have great displays
– 569 island shore Blvd  in Island Lakes – The train display runs from sunset to 10:00 each night unless the weather is really bad.
– 18 Mildred st-North Kildonan
– 1040 Red River Drive, just 10 minutes south of the city. You can drive through the property to see all the lights.
-871 Mulvey apparently has a nice display too.
– 15 Humber Road too.
If any of them have decided to no longer do it – let me know and I’ll remove it. Same as with if you find some great displays, let me know and I”ll add them to the list. People put so much work into doing this – might as well get out there and enjoy all their hard work!

  1. Wonderful! Thank you for this great list! There’s one on Dunkirk Drive our family makes a point of seeing every year. I don’t know the number though.

We saw the Snowberry Circle one two years ago and it was absolutely mind-blowing. We sat with MANY others and watched, mesmerized, for about 30 minutes. But I didn’t think they did it last year! Did they? I hope it is yearly. We didn’t actually check but I looked it up and could only find info about it in 2017 and found nothing about 2018. We’d be thrilled if it is on again for 2019!
