The Friday Night movies are back on the Lyric Stage in August! These are super fun – big outdoor screen and great movies for the whole family! Best of all it’s free!
Here’s this years lineup, the first movie is at 7pm and the 2nd is at 9:15pm.
August 7th – Big Hero 6, Theory of Everything
August 14th – Finding Nemo, Tomorrowland
August 21st – Cinderella, Avengers age of Ultron
August 28th – Home, Hunger Games Part 1
Really neat selection of movies this year, something for everyone. Perfect to take little kids to, if they fall asleep you can stay for the 2nd show 🙂 And a lot of movies teens and adults would enjoy too.
Remember to bring a blanket or a lawn chair – it gets pretty cool at night so a sleeping bag is great! And a lot of bug spray!
There are some snacks available there, but you can also bring your own. Go early and save your spot and have a picnic dinner – lots of fun!
Good time to mark down the ones you want to see on the calendar, things always get so busy in summer! Really looking forward to these!

This will be our first year checking this out. How early should we go to get a “good” spot and how bad are the bugs?

Jasmine. Not sure about what time for a ‘good’ spot went to a couple of the late movies last year and found the spot we ended up with just fine. Bugs weren’t too bad, with so many people there it sort of decreased the number of bugs to person ratio. Think they also released dragonflies before the one movie to help out.
