Prairie Dog Central Railway has a bunch of special events for Halloween – Igor’s Spooktacular brunch and the Howlin’ Halloween Express are running on several days and times. Family friendly, and a great trip with a little bit of spookiness added in!

Day of the Dead celebrations at the West End Cultural Centre. Some family friendly stuff, some late night parties too.

If you’re looking for pumpkin patches and farm type stuff – make sure to check out this site. There are so many all over the province, and they’re separated by area so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for.

DSC_7795If you’re looking for spookier outings, here are some good ones:

Six Pines has all kinds of great activities for the entire family. Some parts are spookier, and the night time stuff probably isn’t for the faint of heart! They have family days – and age ratings for most things so worth checking out!

– The Marine Museum in Selkirk has their Halloween Haunt on Oct. 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th, 25th and 30th. Some parts are family friendly, some aren’t recommended for kids. It’s from 6-9pm ever night, $9 per person and kids 6 and under are free.

Boonstra Farms has their corn maze – family friendly stuff during the day, and it gets spookier at night!

– Lower Fort Garry has Fright at the Fort – Prison Break! Sounds like a fun time for grownups or older kids, you have to survive with all the escaped convicts! It’s for 14 and up, and it’s on several evenings in mid to end of October.

– A Maze in Corn has their Haunted Forest weekends in October. Family friendly during the day, evenings is recommended for 13 and up. I hear it’s pretty scary! Lots of other stuff to do there during the day also if you’re heading there as a family.

Terror on 12 in Anola is on weekends mid to end of October. This one isn’t recommended for younger kids or anyone with health issues. Sounds pretty spooky!! You need to make it across a haunted estate! Sounds fun, and terrifying!

– The Spooky Barn in OakBank looks like another creepy one! It’s more toward the end of October and isn’t recommended for younger kids, more like 13 and up. Looks like a spooky evening!

Fear The Sliding Dead at Fun Mountain is on from Oct. 25th to 31st. This one sounds super scary – they warn that it’s live action role play. No ages recommended but definitely not for kids.

I will keep adding to the list as we get closer to Halloween – if you know of any good ones, either email me or post them in the comments. And if you know of any good haunted houses, or areas that are well decorated or spooky to check out in Winnipeg let’s add those too!

I like that a lot of these activities are during the entire month of October! Stretch out the fun, and for the little ones they can get several chances to trick or treat! Works out perfectly with Halloween on a Saturday this year too!
