Enter to win to play at The Portal Virtual Reality in Winnipeg! And promo code for bookings and birthday parties!

by Nadine on August 3, 2017

If you’re looking for something fun to do this summer with the kids, or for a night out with friends and family make sure to add The Portal to your list! They have an awesome selection of virtual reality games, helpful staff to walk you through it and it’s a great time for everyone!

My daughter and I went to check it out today and we had a blast! Got to try out tons of really fun games, like Job Simulator, Audioshield and even a really cool one where you can draw and create all kinds of neat stuff, all in Virtual Reality. There’s also a ton of more grown up games too that sound really fun, would make a fun girls night out, guys night out and so on. It’s in The Exchange on McDermot and to my surprise there was tons of parking all around. There’s even a lot nearby if you’re not a fan of street parking.

I had so much fun watching my daughter play – I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s really neat because you get to see what they’re seeing in the goggles on a big screen behind them. But you also get to see how they actually react to it. In one game you walk outside of a tall building onto a plank, my daughter’s legs were shaking so much she thought she might fall down! Amazing how real it all feels.

All I kept thinking too was how awesome it would be for birthday parties – they get to an age where it’s harder to find things they all like. There was one game where you play to the beat of the music and you can choose any song you want! They actually do have birthday party packages which is great! It’s $250 for two hours with two headsets, and entry for 8 kids. Non playing parents/guardians are free. Each additional player is $20 each. There’s couches and chairs for the ones who aren’t playing to hang out on, and really it was just tons of fun watching – in my of my videos I took I’m constantly laughing. If you’re planning a party, use the promo code SAVEWINPTY to get 20% off! It’s only valid for the first 3 bookings, so don’t wait on that one!

If you want to go check it out, you can book your time right online and use the promo code SAVEWIN20 to get 20% off your booking for 1 or 2 headsets. Perfect for an afternoon out with the kids, night out, something fun to do on a rainy day. This is going to be our favourite place in the winter for sure! My daughter had a permasmile for a long time after, she couldn’t stop raving about it and wanting to go back with her friends.

And happy to say I have 1 hour of Virtual Reality for 2 people to give away to one of you lucky readers!

I think I I would like to try Climbey. I’m terrified of heights so I don’t know how well that would go over! This place looks awesome. I. and wait to try it out.
