Enter to win tickets to #Mahlerfest at the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra

15 Oct

mahlerfest The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra has a great series starting soon – from Oct. 23rd to Oct. 31st it’s Mahlerfest.

Here’s a little writeup on the event:

“Celebrate the life and work of one of classical music’s greatest visionaries – Gustav Mahler. Opening with his 2nd Symphony: Resurrection, and closing with his 10th, Mahlerfest covers the full ambit of Mahler’s creative path. Plus – the Winnipeg Philharmonic presents the Lieder of Mahler, his contemporaries and influences (Oct 25), the U of M Symphony Orchestra performs Mahler (Oct 26), Cinematheque screens Visconti’s 1971 film Death in Venice loosely based on the life of Mahler (Oct 27), the Winnipeg Chamber Music Society interprets Mahler’s Piano Quartet (Oct 28), and the renowned writer and Mahler scholar Norman Lebrecht hosts an evening of ideas (Oct 29).”

This is a really neat series – so much variety and I love how different every night is! These are a great idea for a date night out, taking a friend or family member out who loves the symphony. Perfect for early Christmas or birthday gifts too! You can buy tickets right on the WSO website too!

One lucky person will be winning a pair of tickets to the show on Oct. 23rd at 8pm – Mahler’s 2nd:Resurrection. This one is a crowd favourite and includes a large choir and solo singers.
